There are government efforts underway to tax economic activity within virtual worlds and games. China is working on one such rule, while Sweden and South Korea have clarified the tax rules in these realms. This just proves that death and taxes are the two things you can't avoid in life... Uhmm that and syphilis... what? you don't have syphilis? I caught mine from eating at a fast food restaurant... coz i ate off a woman's vajayjay...

NASA tests interplanetary internet
NASA successfully conducted the first deep-space test of a communication protocol that could serve as the basis for an interplanetary Internet. This is awesome! Now even martians can tune into the "Spirit of Truth" on Youtube and see enlightenment. Say it with me martians.... "I come in the name of Jesus! By the Power of the Holy Spirit!" Beeyotch!!! either that or surf for porn like everybody else. They win either way.
Movin out
Hmmkay, so I will be sleeping over at my new abode officially by tonight. I've already done some "heavy" lifting last saturday to move my "heavy" stuff. i.e. pillows, clothes, and a single mattress to my new cave so all i have to worry about is what I'll be eating and how to wake up early in the morning... hmmm... so wish me luck (talking to my invisible readers) My office also assigned me to a new project, I mean WTF, as if moving out of the house for the first time in 27 years was not a big shift already now i have to train for a new project... anyhoo, wish me luck magical unicorns!

Happiness
Ok, so an EU study found that the Danes and the Finns are the happiest villagers in zee Old continent. Good for them, why can't countries AIM to increase their people's happiness instead of their GDP for example? Everyone knows money is not the key to happiness so why can't governments just aim to make their citizens happy instead of richer? Maybe North Korea can start the ball rolling... "Hey you! (comrade Kim poking a gun at hapless citizen) sign this form that you're happy!!!" Now!!! I'm due for a stroke in the next hour so hurry up!!!" Oh BTW, Ol' Happy Hair Kim Jong Illest of North of the DMZizzle had a stroke and his minions are denying it... I guess he has to transfer his powerizzle to his ahmmm son..iz..le... (hmmm... I'm writing like this coz Kim was once part of Wu Tang Clan, you don't believe me? Google IT!!!!)

Yahoo Messenger on Netbooks
The only thing keeping me from TOTALLY buying a netbook (aside from the lack of money) is the fact that there seems to be NO yahoo messenger program for those little machines. I happen to NEED the webcam features of the Yahoo messenger so I don't think pidgin is going to cut it for me. I'm sure those netbooks are great for typing stuff and ahmmm... surfing the net but I NEED that webcam feature. Anyhoo, I mentioned before that I HEART Asus Eee netbooks, But right now i happen to Heart the Acer Aspire One more because it's cheaper and looks hell of a lot better.

Julia Nunez' cover of Say Anything's Alive with the Glory of Love
Don't you just love YouTube? In what? 3 years? It has grown into this big giant library of videos of sleeping cats, jedi wannabes, people being grossed out from watching 2 chicks and a cup, and presidential candidate's who want to get your votes. I like watching videos of bands I will NEVER get to hear about here in my dear ol' country like Dear and the Headlights (see older video posts) and *rarely Say Anything. What's better than seeing your favorite band is seeing a HOT chick play a cover of their best song. So here goes, Julia Nunez' cover of Say Anything's Alive with the Glory of Love.

Chi Cheng's car accident
Deftones bassist Chi Cheng was involved in a 'terrible' car accident in the first week of November, 2008. The latest news from their blog was that he is in a stable condition now. I would like to remind everyone to wear their seatbelts when you ride a car and to say a prayer for his speedy recovery. CHeck their blog for updates on Chi's condition.

mini nuclear power plant
Hey buddy, could you spare $25 million? I'd love to buy a nuclear power plant m'kay? ...What the hell? Hyperion is selling a mini nuclear power plant for that price which according to Engadget is capable of supplying power to 10,000 homes with a lifespan of 10 years. Well if this is TRUE then any small country can buy one and solve their energy crisis and fuck renewable energy. So doing the math.... that's 25,000,000 (yes that's six zeros) divided by 10 years (its operating life) divided again by 10,000 homes would mean 250 bucks a year for each house. Now tell me that ain't a good deal? Third world power companies are ya listening? But this could turn out to be something that's too good to be true.... (ya know what comes next) Nifty idea ey? So maybe after it expires in 10 years either Hyperion could refuel the darn thing OR we could chuck it to wherever radioactive waste is kept (good thing it only measures less than five feet)Wait a sec... Reading through Hyperion's website, it turns out it can power 20,000 houses... let's do the math again.... $25,000,000 divided by 10 years divided by 20,000 homes brings us to....$125 smackers... and apparently it churns out 25MWe.

Bioterrorism
An article in the November, 2008 issue of Scientific American says that some public health scientists say that the U.S. is at a greater risk for bioterrorism due to the increase in biolaboratories and individuals with access to bioweapons agents after the government spent muchos dineros on preventing such attacks. It's like buying a dog to guard your house but it ends up biting you sigh. Hmmm, what a paradox.
