Cockroach pheromones

An experiment where students learn to synthesize cockroach pheromones called blattellaquinone is described in the November 2008 issue of the Journal of Chemical Education. The experiment has a real world application in baiting the little fuckers (LF) which is less harmful to the environment than using pesticides to kill the LFs. This is all well and good until one of the students wake up with a cockroach humping his face.
