Google Hot Rocks

Whatever happened to Google's funding of a Hot Rocks research project? The big G (no not Gates) donated almost $11 million for research into this enhanced geothermal energy source. Basically, the idea behind it is if you dig deep enough, you'll reach hot rocks where you could pour water then generate steam. Sounds promising eh?
